It Takes a Village

Donation protected
Most of the Michigan area and those who live near US-131 heard the story of a police stand-off on Thursday, August 27th, but what wasn't shared were the names and stories of the 4 beautiful children in the backseat. These children are my cousins and have overcome a great deal, gone without many necessary resources, and experienced a lifestyle that many adults would have a hard time overcoming. These children are resilient despite all of these hurdles and on that Thursday overcame a very large hurdle when they watched their father get arrested. They say it takes a village to raise a child and any parent knows it sometimes takes more than that. So, for those of you who maybe passed this incident on Thursday, saw it on the news,  read about it on your Facebook news-feed, or simple have a child and you know the effort it takes to help your children succeed and live a child-like life then, I would plead with you to take heart. These children were given to their mother who took them with open arms yet wasn't prepared to bring home 4 children with no help that Thursday evening to an apartment too small to hold. The need is exponential for 1 child let alone 4 so, if you've continued to follow the story to this point and feel so implored I would encourage you to help in any way you can, it takes a village.
