SIDAC Campaign to Decriminalise Sex Work in SA
Donation protected
The laws pertaining to sex work in South Australia were put in place over 60 years ago. They are archaic and unworkable, placing sex workers in positions of vulnerability and inequity in the work force.
Over the past 30 years there has been over a dozen concerted efforts by various politicians to address this issue and decriminalise the industry, in order to offer sex workers agency to choose their occupation without being branded criminals, and validity in their work.
Sex Industry Decriminalisation Action Committee (SIDAC) is a volunteer group of sex workers, community & womens organisations, MPs, & legal services representatives, who meet regularly to build community and political support for decriminalisation of sex work in South Australia. We are passionate and determined in working towards the decriminalisation of sex work in South Australia.
On March 28th, SIDAC hosted an information and education evening for the general public, which was completely funded by the generosity of people like YOU! People who agree that it is time for change, and an improved working environment for sex workers. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated, and helped make this event happen.
Whilst the event was a great success, it cannot be a stand alone activity in the fight for sex work decriminalisation. We need to keep the momentum going, and take a multi-pronged approach. For that we require ongoing funding - hence the need to initiate this GoFundMe account.
Be part of the future for sex workers in South Australia and make a donation today :-)
No amount is too small, you can make a positive change in the lives of sex workers!
Thank you in anticipation of your help and support.
