Tough Mudder for Orphanage in Haiti

The Tough Mudder Team:
Brothers Reid and Ron... and YOU!
The Race:
On August 26th we are teaming up to participate in an 8-hour mud obstacle race near Chicago called Toughest Mudder. The race starts at midnight and goes until 8:00am the following morning. Reid will be completing as many 5-mile laps as possible. Each 5-mile lap has 20 obstacles mixed in and a lot of mud! Ron will be the pit crew assisting Reid with nutrition, equipment and good ol' encouragement!

The Cause:
We are excited to be using the race as an opportunity to raise donations for an orphanage and school in Haiti called the Greta Academy. 60 orphans live there, plus 150 children from the community attend school at the academy. Without the Greta Academy these kids would be living in extreme poverty with little or no educational opportunities. We have been inspired by how Christ has blessed us and we in turn want to be a blessing to the children of Haiti!
Raised Funds Will Be Used Specifically For:
Earlier this summer Reid spent 9 days at the academy and fell in love with the kids. Based on the needs of the orphanage and school we are looking to raise $3000 to purchase:
-School supplies and uniforms for the students at the orphanage and the children who attend the school that come in from the surrounding community.
-Recreational and sporting equipment for the children (soccer balls, nets, cleats, etc.).
-Supplies for the academy’s vocational training program where teens learn job skills (such as cooking, carpentry, masonry and cosmetology) that will help them find employment upon leaving the orphanage.
While this will be a challenging event for us, it is small compared to the challenges the orphans will face growing up in Haiti. Would you consider donating to help us meet our goal of $3000 to purchase these supplies for the children at the Greta Academy?
