In less than 11 days thanks to all of your love and kindness we are almost at our goal of sending the entire school to see The Black Panther (I can't believe it!!!). Thank you all so much, all of the donations are truly appreciated. We are less than $700 away from our goal thanks to all of you. We have hit our initial $2,400 goal but all of the love and sharing has inspired us to dream bigger. Colin and I appreciate all of the sharing and giving to these amazing kids and now we are going to try and get the middle and high school campus to go also, so please keep sharing.

Frank My name is Colin Lieu and I'm working with Franklin Forbes, and the TMALS Expanded Learning Time (ELT) program to raise money to send the scholars at Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School in Harlem, New York City to see the movie The Black Panther.
We strongly believe in the power of positive images and narratives - especially the accessibility of them being seen on the silver screen by young students of color.
With your help, we can send these inspiring and ambitious scholars to a screening of the movie. We've set ourselves the goal of having the screening the week of March 5, 2018. We have been in touch with administrators and have selected this date to accommodate staff seeing the film first and ensure it is age and content appropriate. =)

Franklin and I are thrilled by the support from our friends, family, social media networks and caring strangers (connected by values). It is a requireent from GoFundMe to state that I, Colin Lieu, will withdraw the funds as a fundraising individual and personally make a purchase to buy-out a movie theater buy-out at the Magic Johnson AMC in Harlem, New York. I've been quoted at $2,400.
Depending on the scale of excess funds, additional dollars will either go towards snacks and food for the scholars OR towards supporting an additional movie screening for the middle and high school grades of Thurgood Marshall Academy for Learning and Social Change.
