As many of you know, the writing center sustained damage when a pipe froze and burst. Actually, there was no damage, but the landlords feel there was.  :-( The claim was denied by our insurance company because the heat had not been turned on. Why wasn't the heat turned on? Because I needed someone from City Hall to come out and inspect the system. Why hadn't I done that? Believe me, I tried! I left three very detailed messages and no one ever got back to me. So the heat did  not get turned on and the pipe froze and burst. So yes, it was my fault, technically.  I have been hosting  literary events at the center for almost a year, and I pay for everything - rent, food, website, etc etc... and I just can't take this financial hit... I hate hate hate asking for money, it feels really ickky to me. But any donations would be incredibly appreciated, thank you!
