Service dog for Aaron

For those of you who know Aaron he is a smart, happy & silly boy. But he was born with a rare condition called Septo Optic Dysplasia. It’s a fancy word that means he has multiple conditions linked together. He has Adrenal Insufficiency, hypothyroidism, growth hormone deficiency and he is completely blind. He was also diagnosed with epilepsy. When Aaron gets super sick or has something causing stress to his body he can go into Adrenal failure & it sends him into an almost comatose state at which point he starts having seizures and it could eventually kill him. It can also happen for no good reason, randomly with no warning. We have almost lost Aaron multiple times from the day he was born, but he’s managed to fight through it with a smile. And every parents worst nightmare is something I have been faced with to many times. I’ve done research, talked with friends and discussed it among our family and we feel a service dog would benefit him because it can alert us of Adrenal crisis and epileptic seizures before they happen. For him to get a service dog we are looking at about $17,000 for the purchase and training of the dog. Im on waiting lists for funding but that can take quite a while and it seems like the longer we wait the worse things get with his health. He has a great family on all sides that help when they can & my fiancé Weston provides everything he can and takes great care of all of us. Staying home with Aaron to ensure his health and safety is my priority. But being that we are a one income household with 2 kids and bills makes getting money of that amount really difficult. Helping us to get this service animal will help Aaron to achieve and experience things he may not be able to otherwise, and it will give us all peace of mind knowing something else is looking out for him at all times!
