GO GOLD FOR LUCAS LOWE

In October 2010, Lucas was in and out of Doctor’s offices for what they thought was a viral infection or possibly pain caused by a growth spurt.  He was experiencing a low grade fever and leg pain.  In February 2011 the pain got bad enough that Lucas was admitted to a hospital.  It was discovered, after drawing blood, that Lucas was diagnosed with High Risk B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of seven.  His treatment included intense Chemo as well as Spinal Taps with Chemo.  Lucas endured three years of this type of treatment and fought off Pneumonia three times.  Lucas was in remission and everything looked promising. Almost 14 months after his last treatment, the leg pain and fatigue returned, which were all signs of relapse. On August 17, 2015, a day before Lucas’s 12th birthday, Lucas and his family received the same diagnosis he received in February 2011.  This time the treatment is Chemo at Roswell Park followed up with T-Cell therapy at Sloan Memorial in New York City beginning October 7, 2015.  Once Lucas returns from Sloan Memorial, his next course of treatment will be radiation and more than likely a Bone Marrow Transplant at Roswell Park.  Lucas’s Mom, Maureen Warren, who we all know as Mo, has worked for ten years at Candy Apple.  She continued working throughout Lucas’s previous treatment and will work as much as possible this time, unfortunately due to how aggressive the treatment is she will not be working as much as she would like.  I am asking for donations to help this wonderful family pay for medical bills as well as transportation costs and whatever else they need help with during their time of need.
