My name is Jane Santangelo. I live in Marlborough CT. My husband and I have avery special friend. His name is well known in the NHRA racing world...Back in 70's our special friend Bob Johnson helped many fellas put together great racecars.. Im sorry to say. This picture is not of Bob but of one of him most famous friends in racing...This fella is Joe. Moon DeLorenzo Hamden CT. These were not professional racers. These were fella just like my husband who love putting together great cars from scratch. Many of these cars were given to the fellas from Bob Johnson who at the time represented Scuncio Chev. Smithfield Rhode Island. Many of these cars raced all over the country with a caravan of family members, best friends and fans. They went on to win bug races, the kind a racer dreams about. Right next to them was Bob Johnson loving the sport.
Bob is in trouble right now and we as friends are trying to reach out to all the NHRA RACERS, CAR BUFFS AND ANYONE WHO CAN HELP HIM IN HIS NEED.
BOB IS FIGHTING PARKINSON'S DISEASE. He is trying to work with senior housing while living in a motel. We brought him to a wonderful senior center in his town. One of the women working there told Bob she knew exactly who his was.. She told him that he sold a Corvette to her Dad and he still has. Bob was thrilled
and always loves to hear vintage car stories.... Shes helping him sign into as many luncheo programs and office. Right now Bob needs money to get him through the next 3 months until housing is open to him. We are reaching out to anyone who understands what Parkinson's Disease cando to a strong positive man.. He's broken and lost and we want him to see there are people out there who understand needing help... Please if there is anyone out there reading these words. Please help one of the most given and exciting man we know... He started the racing in Rhode Island and CT.... The racers all went on to be winners.... Many of the cars are classics and still out there now....please help
