Tip Your Servers, Nova Scotia (COVID-19 relief)

Nova Scotians have been urged by Public Health Officials to "work from home" and avoid all unnecessary social interactions. These proactive measures are essential to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
For some of us, complying with our government's request will be fairly pain-free. If you have a job you can do from home AND you can afford to stockpile 2-3 weeks worth of groceries, then you're one of the lucky ones. But many people aren't so lucky...
In Nova Scotia, over 30,000 people work in the restaurant and hospitality industry. These people can't "work from home" and many live paycheck to paycheck.
Many people who work in restaurants, cafes, and bars have little to no income right now. The goal of this fundraiser is to provide urgent relief to workers in the hospitality industry. We'd like to give $250 "tips" to 100 hospitality workers in need. It's not a lot of money, but it's enough to buy groceries and take a bit of the pressure off.
Let's come together to support the hardworking people who greet us with a smile at our favourite restaurants, cafes, and bars. Just think of your donation as a big tip for future service ;)
** Donations of any size are needed. If you can't donate yourself, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser on social media. **
How the Fund Works:
1. 100% of the funds donated will be redistributed to people in need. All hospitality industry staff are eligible for funding support (e.g. wait staff, kitchen staff, baristas, bartenders, etc).
2. Funding recipients will be chosen randomly. The first batch of funding recipients will be chosen on March 23, 2020. We will continue fundraising for 30 days and will choose new funding recipients every Monday.
3. Each week we'll distribute as many $250 "tips" as we can. For instance: if we raise $1,000, then we will randomly choose 4 people to receive $250 each. If we raise $10,000, then 40 people will get $250, and so on.
