Fundraiser on behalf of Michelle Clark for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for RSD/CRPS.  Her treatment begins on October 18th 2010.  You will be able to follow her progress on Facebook.

This fundraiser is to raise money toward medical procedures needed for Michelle Clark to combat Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), a painful and debilitating nerve disorder for which Michelle is diagnosed. This diagnosis of (RSD) was given after the trauma from an injection that hit a nerve given by an orthopedic doctor.

Since being diagnosed, Michelle has not been able to walk for more than five or ten minutes without extreme pain. She spends most of her time with her foot elevated to avoid rapid and painful swelling. She has lost most of her independence, cannot drive or work, and is weary from her prescriptions. She and Jason have already committed thousands of dollars in co-payments since her original injury for numerous bone scans, MRI's, physical therapy sessions, and multiple sympathetic nerve blocks.

Recently an opportunity has come to light that may provide Michelle the much needed help toward recovery she so desperately needs. Dr. Allan Spiegel, a well-known neurologist specializing in RSD has had great success treating RSD patients putting the condition into remission. After consultation, Dr. Spiegel has made his services available to Michelle. Located in Palm Harbor, Florida, his specialized techniques and 100 percent oxygen hyperbaric chamber therapy have had great success with other RSD patients and offer Michelle's greatest hope for recovery prior to invasive surgery. The treatment runs five days a week and lasts one month. It includes hyperbaric chamber therapy sessions, intravenous vitamins and calcium designed for her specific situation, as well as daily B-12 injections to further speed her healing.

This treatment's total cost is approximately $6,500 not including lodging and food and unfortunately is not covered by insurance. Michelle has been fortunate enough to have a dear friend offer her the use of her condominium throughout treatment.

Anything that you may provide, in any amount would be most greatly appreciated. Jason and Michelle are able to put money into the treatment too, but we are hoping to help lessen the burden.
