"Endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond pelvic organs.

With endometriosis, displaced endometrial tissue continues to act as it normally would — it thickens, breaks down and bleeds with each menstrual cycle. Because this displaced tissue has no way to exit your body, it becomes trapped. When endometriosis involves the ovaries, cysts called endometriomas may form. Surrounding tissue can become irritated, eventually developing scar tissue and adhesions — abnormal bands of fibrous tissue that can cause pelvic tissues and organs to stick to each other."  -https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/endometriosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20354656

Hello, my name is Tiffany and I have stage IV endometriosis. I have been dealing with this condition since 8th grade, being in and out of doctors more than any child/young adult should have to be. After years of testing, two colonoscopies, one bilateral ovarian cystectomy,  numerous experimental medical treatments, two fertility specialists, a hysterectomy, and 3 OBGYNs, my doctors have agreed another surgery is the best option for me to achieve relief. On February 22nd I will have what is hopefully my final surgery removing my remaining ovary, cleaning the endometriosis off my intestines, removing the endometriosis from the inside/outside of my colon, removing a small tumor, and taking out my appendix. I am incredibly excited to feel relief. This does though leave me with a hard decision...

Removing my last ovary means getting rid of any viable eggs I may have left. This decision has been incredibly difficult for me. Even though I came to terms awhile back with never being able to carry, I had always thought I could give an egg to my partner to carry. The thought of that never being a possibility is heartbreaking to me.

All of that to say, I have decided to try and freeze eggs, hoping to make my dream a reality. Unfortunately, this is not a cheap endeavor. I will be trying to pay for the egg freezing fee as wellas surviving during my 6-8 week recovery from my surgery which leaves me in a hard position.

While it pains me to do so, I’m asking for help from anyone who feels it in their heart to give. Any donation is greatly appreciated! There is no gift too small. I completely understand if you are financially unable to donate. We are all going through hard times right now because of Covid. If you don't mind, could you please share this with your friends and family?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have an amazing day.
Yours truly,

Tiffany
