If you have been following the Tiny House Movement in Maine over the past few years you are aware that it's been difficult to find any information or guidance on how to build, purchase, transport and/or live in a tiny home (referring to moveable tiny homes only). As tiny home builders and advocates we have spent countless hours trying to establish a process to make it easier for both businesses and individuals in Maine.
We've worked with a group of people to get 2 legislative requests in that will be reviewed and voted on in October or November. If they make the cut to the second session, we will then have a chance to draft language for a state wide tiny home acceptance bill.
We have gotten the attention of several local, state and federal representatives and senators. To take advantage of this momentum we have decided to consult with and hire registered Maine lobbyists to will try to make this bill become a law in Maine.
Whether you're a business owner, DIY builder, tiny home dweller or enthusiast, please join Alan Plummer, Maine Chapter of the American Tiny House Association (and lives in a tiny home in Chelsea, ME), and myself, Corinne Watson, owner of Tiny Homes of Maine to help make tiny living easier for people in Maine!https://americantinyhouseassociation.org/
