Tiny but Mighty: Everett Crushing Leukemia
Donation protected
On October 23rd Everett’s terrified parents rushed him to Calgary after hearing some of the worst words parents can hear, your son has leukemia. Over the last 5 days this brave 3 year old has undergone multiple procedures and tests, but unfortunately this will only be a small fraction of what’s ahead for him. He has a great team in Calgary who have a 2.5 year treatment plan to treat his acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Everett’s lives in Medicine Hat with his parents Jeremy and Trina and two older sisters Vanessa and Addison. As Medicine Hat has no children’s hospital there will be lots of travel ahead of him. I am writing this both as Everett’s aunt and an oncology nurse. I have seen many times the endless hours of dedication family members commit to my leukemia patients. This can often mean months of missed work, hospital cafeteria meals and coffees on the run to spend every minute available with their loved ones. These expenses really add up. Let’s let them spend their energy standing beside this sweet boy on his journey and not thinking about money! Every dollar helps!
