Tinsley Faith's Fight with CDH

Donation protected
Tinsley and her mother Michelle and father Trey have had a long journey full of different mile stones. Here is baby Tinsley's story.

In October at Michelle's 18 month ultrasound, Tinsley was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). She was missing the entire left half of her diaphragm and because of this, her stomach, intestines and part of her liver entered into her chest cavity. This pushed her heart to the right side but more importantly, caused her lungs to not grow.  From here their long fight began.

Michelle and Tinsley were admitted into Texas Children's in Houston were they would stay until Tinsley's birth. They were blessed with an amazing team of doctors who would stay with them throughout this journey. The first step to helping Tinsley survive would be the FETO surgery. This is wear they would cut a small incision into Michelle's uterus and insert a balloon into Tinsleys throat to hopefully cause fluid to build up in her lungs and cause them to grow. This surgery is not FDA approved and has only been done on a total of 23 people in the US so needless to say it was very risky but their only option.

As they prepared for the surgery, the team of doctors and surgeons could not find an opportune moment where Tinsley was in the right position. The first attempt ended in the decision not to proceed and to wait a week to see if Tinsely would shift position. Unfortunately, she did not and the decision to take out Michelle's entire uterus and then do the laparoscopiclly was made. The risks were very high but Michelle's love for her baby Tinsley and faith in God was greater. The surgery was long but was an extreme success giving everyone a glimmer of hope for survival. Now they would have to wait to see if the fluid would build in the proper locations to help Tinsley's lungs grow and try to avoid infection and labor until Michelle reached 36 weeks.

The weeks continued to march on with ups and downs. Michelle had a lot of contractions within those weeks and the fight to keep her from going into labor was extremely challenging. Tinsley's chance for survival went from 0-10% before the surgery to 60% as her lungs began to develop!

On January 31st 2018, Michelle went into labor ahead of time. The doctors went into action to perform another major surgery to remove the ballon from Tinsley throat and deliver her. On that day their beautiful baby girl was born!! Her fight is still not over though and that is why I created this go fun me page. Tinsley is in the NICU and has been placed on the ECMO and is in critical condition. This little girl has a fighting spirit but has a long road ahead of her which may mean months in the hospital.

Through this time the family will have to pay for parking daily to see little Tinsley  which is $8 per day and also have a food expense. Unfortunately the hospital no longer provides vouchers for parents for parking so my hope is to raise $2,000 to help cover these costs. If we reach our goal this will cover them for 100 days of parking and $1,200 for food and essentials. Please help me reach my goal for this amazing family! They have been through so much and your donation will help get their minds off of financial burdens and give them the chance to focus and be there for baby Tinsley!
