TinPen Alley Community Support

Donation protected
Tin Pen Alley has been bringing the community together for over 5 years and now, the owners need your help!

On Tuesday night, May 22 of this year, Tin Pen Alley suffered a major structural collapse in the basement of the building.   The damage to the front support wall has rendered that section of the building unsafe and the business was forced to close.

Remember when?  The bowling center in Stuart was built and opened by the Willard family back in 1960.  It has been a place where families, friends, students and coworkers have gathered in Patrick County for over 57 years.  As the Willard family retired in 2011, Dannie and Kathy Anderson and Dannie's brother Derrick purchased the building.  After renovating the bowling center and grill, it reopened as Tin Pen Alley in November 2011.

Since then . . .  the center has played an important role in the community and offers a locally-owned, conveniently located place for family entertainment.  Tin Pen Alley has been the home to over 25 bowling leagues and multiple bowling tournaments attracting visitors from surrounding counties and North Carolina.   The center has hosted church groups, birthday parties, family and class reunions, corporate and civic Christmas parties and events to celebrate holidays and special occasions.  During the school year, children from every school in the county, as well as special education and senior adults, can be found enjoying the friendly atmosphere at Tin Pen Alley.

And now . . . .  after the engineers and the contractors, the Andersons have learned that the cost of repair will be over $100,000!  And, while they filed a claim with their insurance company, the coverage was denied due to the nature of the damage.

How you can help . . .    The Andersons are committed to completing the repairs and reopening Tin Pen Alley as soon as possible. They are currently working with their bank and personal resources and are seeking guidance from local, state and federal representatives in an effort to to identify potential grants or support.

Let's come together and give them the support they need to return Tin Pen Alley to the community.
