Tina's (Aunt T) Hernia Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone! My roommate and I are starting this campaign for our dorm facilities custodian, Tina, which if you're a resident in Mood-Shearn, you'll know she goes by "Aunt T". To get straight to the point, we're raising the money so that she'll be able to get hernia surgery, aka a swelling of an organ or tissue through an abnormal opening. Hernia's are caused by a multitude of factors, typically including over-lifting, strenuous labor, or having children. They can be extremely painful, and in Tina's case, its taken its toll on her stomach making eating a painful task (usually throwing up whatever she eats).  Last I spoke to her about it, she had lost about 15-25 pounds from the side effects , and is continuing to drop weight even though she’s already 115 pounds and continues to work full-time.

Back in November she was scheduled to get the surgery but came back to campus a week later and told us she wouldn't be able to afford the $2000 for surgery, no less the extensive cost of prescriptions, checkup appointments, and supplies needed to recover afterwards. In order to help with these things we've set the goal at $2500. We realize that we might not be able to reach the full amount, but we figured absolutely any amount would be one step closer towards helping her get better.

Although not everyone can donate, all that we ask is that you might share this on your social media or even with friends and family that might be able to, and say a prayer for her throughout this! On a final note, we would really like to surprise her with whatever we make out of this fundraiser, so if she comes to your room daily, try not to mention anything about this just yet! We will try to pull together a card with signatures from donors and students to give her as well! Once again, this woman is genuinely one of the most kind and warm souls on this campus who works so hard and remains so positive about this whole situation despite everything! We plan on giving her our phone numbers post surgery so that we can possibly bring her meals while she’s recovering. We feel that it was God’s will that she happened to blindly tell us about her situation, so that we could could surprise her with with exactly the thing she’s been praying for. Thank you and feel free to contact me (Sarah Pulatie) or my roommate Gabi Dillon if you have any additional questions/ ideas about helping her out:-)
