Tina Hernandez aka Tina Zamora has had a rough year.. Tina has been struggling with her pancreas for years and having procedure after procedure with no relief and no answers. April of 2019 she was undergoing yet another procedure to see why she was so sick and in so much pain... The doctor found a tumor on her pancreas.. The find was scary and urgent. Tina underwent the whipple procedure 3 weeks later. She had to prep before the procedure could be done. They warned her of the dangers of proceeding with the surgery and dangers of not.. The results came back after surgery and it wasn't cancer... yea!!! She lost half pancreas, some intestines and 100% of the tumor.. Flash forward Nov 8 Tina is rushed to the hospital. Tina had been sick for a day or two with strep throat. Friday morning she didn't go to work and her mom and dad stopped by... It was truly a miracle they decided to come by on this day. Tina was in bed sick and unknown to anyone at the time slowly dying. By the afternoon her parents knew something was wrong and called 911. The er doctor told her family it was bacterial meningitis and she had been sick for a while. The doctor stated she was critical and she may not be leaving the hospital. The prognoses was not good and the doctor encouraged her family to say goodbye. Tina was put in to an induced coma and had to be ventilated. She did not look like the Tina we know and love. The medications changed every day like the diagnosis and reason for her illness. Tina remained in a coma for a week. She was slowly weaned from the sedation but remained ventilated due to her lung function and infection. Since she woke she has been getting better everyday. Tina was removed from the ventilator a few days later. Tina has remained in the hospital being treated for the infection and many other ailments this infection brought on. Tina lost vision in her left eye and it still remains swollen, her hearing was reduced due to the build up of fluid in her left ear but has slowly been resolving. Tina has been doing intense physical therapy. She had to retrain her body to do things we take for granted like walking, buttoning a shirt, getting in and out of bed and going to the bathroom to name a few. There is so much more to this story. At this time Tina will need to heal and recover. She has exhausted most of her disability with her last surgery and now will need more time and medical treatment/interventions to get back to her A game.  We are raising money to help her with medical bills, medical supplies, therapy (physically and mentally), house bills, groceries and anything else that life may throw at her.. anything helps and is appreciated.. We are over the moon Tina is awake, alive and is doing as well as she has been. Now we need to focus on getting life back on track.
