Tina G's fight against brain cancer

Donation protected
Hello Everyone.  I was instructed to edit my post with updated information, so here is what they've requested.

My name is Nicole Ouellette-Richardville.   I'm from Grosse Pointe, Michigan.   I have a friend and coworker of whom I'm very fond of who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer a week ago.   I am raising money for her co-pays for treatment and all medical visits, as well as money to pay for living expenses since she will soon lose income from her job.   The funds will be used to pay the mortgage, house bills, auto payment, auto / home insurance, groceries, and all of life's expenses.   After one month, I'm hoping we've met the goal.   I plan to route the funds to Tina today, as her battle started weeks ago.   I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping this incredibly awesome human being.

4 weeks ago, Tina's husband Roger took her to the ER for loss of peripheral vision and headache.   Two days later, she was having a brain tumor removed.   Last week, Tina was told she has glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer.   She was given less than one year to live.   She's decided she's going to fight like hell.   If you knew Tina, you wouldn't expect anything less.   To understand what she's truly facing, please google glioblastoma.

The treatment for this cancer is a round of radiation and chemo, followed by a resting period, and then one more round of radiation and chemo.   That's it.   There's no third course, no re-do, no additional therapy.       There's a lot of life to live, all supported by two rounds of treatment.   That scares the hell out of me, so I can only imagine how Tina and Roger feel.

I've had the pleasure of working with Tina for a few years.   She's one of the best people I've sincerely had the pleasure of knowing.    She'd walk across fire to help someone in need.   It's not just the nurse in her, but the person she is.   She's selfless, beautiful, smart, witty and kind.   She's a wife, daughter, step mom, coworker, friend, furry mom, aunt and a lot of things to a lot of people.   She's so loved.   Every single one of us wishes they could take this diagnosis away.    Then there's the question from hell...... WHY?  Why does this have to happen, especially to this awesome person?!     But it's happening.   So, we're trying to help in the only way we know how right now.   Taking the enormous burden of money away.

Tina is Canadian, so she's covered under their healthcare, but she still has co-pay's, etc.   There's plenty of expense.    The bigger issue is that she'll soon lose her paychecks, which she relies on, as we all do, to pay bills.   Those of us who love her wish that the ONLY thing she has to focus on is kicking cancer's posterior.    We don't want her to worry about bills, or whether or not her husband will receive her life insurance.   We want her to focus on her.

Isn't it ironic that all we do is complain about our bills, but Tina's hope is that she'll be around to gladly pay them?   I feel horribly selfish when I complain about anything.....because I'm not fighting for my life right now.   I have a roof over my head, a job, a husband, family, money in my bank account.   Most importantly, I have life.   I just want to give that back to Tina.   We all do.  But we can't.   We CAN give piece of mind.   That's what we can give.

When you have a terminal cancer, everything seems urgent because it is.    The one thing Tina's doctor requests of her is to stay calm and focused because a calm mind will keep her immune system healthier.   So please help us keep her mind focused on where it should be - kicking cancer's butt.

Humbly,

Team Tina
