In the early Fall of 2014 I was set to start a career in design after graduation from Texas State University. My future was pretty unclear, but I was excited to embark on this new and exciting adventure. Little did I know I was about to hop on a train to the craziest destination ever, CANCER.

On August 28th, the day I now consider my "rebirth" I was diagnosed with ALL or Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  To break it down simply for you it is a rare form of Leukemia  mostly found in pediatric patients where the bone marrow over produces a bunch of wack white blood cells in its attempt to fight an infection that doesn't really exist. It's very mysterious, but I have hope that one day I or someone out there will figure out why this imbalance happens in the body.

After what's been about two years of extensive treament between my hometown in San Benito, Texas and literally "Cancertown" in Houston, AKA MD Anderson, I am in Remission. It's been a tough battle physically, mentally, and spiritually for both myself and my family, but we're surviving. There were many set backs on the way to this point. Last October I was fortunate to have survived a mistake overdose by the 'premier' cancer center of the world. I almost lost my life again, and after alot of healing I was able to forgive and move forward. This event is what pushed us to not just survive but THRIVE.

Overall my cancer experience was a humbling one that has changed me completely. I guess when I think of it that way I would say it was transformative. While I have six months left of my maintanece treatment my sense of adventure hasn't died out; I am ready to take the journey into indepent life. I'm beginning by making the move back to Austin, Texas to restart my design career. I still have medical bills to pay on top of trying to establish my place in a new city, so I would like to ask for help from all you. I hope to raise about 2,000 dollars to cover my cost of living expenses for about two months while I try to stand on my own to feet.

I haven't really asked for help on my own through all of this, and I would really like to free my parents of some financial burden (Even though I am lucky enough to have parents who don't ever feel that way). It's more about learning to be self sustianing again. So I am asking this favor from me personally.

For those of you who choose to lift me up on my new adventure, and I am humbled by your love and generosity.

Know that I take you with me in my heart wherever I go.

Thank you,
