NHS Tim's stage IV bowel cancer battle aged 27

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ann.

I know times are hard right now, but I am begging you for YOUR help. Let me explain...

My brother Tim (30) is a son, a brother and a loving uncle to three young children. Tim works at an NHS hospital in London. He has an amazing long-term girlfriend, previously donated blood, and was generally just living his life.

Then he was diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer 2019.

Since his diagnosis Tim has had three rounds of chemo and various lung surgeries. However the cancer is still there, lurking, a shadow over all the good in his life. Tim has kept his diagnosis private, with his nephew and nieces kept in the dark, to protect them as he has undergone treatments after being told that his age he stood a "better chance" from the surgery outcomes - however as the cancer is persistent and his treatment is palliative - we are telling his story, because we have no other option. If I need to shout it from the rooftops and beg for help to keep my brother here, then that's what I will do.....

Tim has been given a lifeline, and offered a new, limited drug which he has been told has been working wonders for the few people who have been lucky enough to be able to fund it. The medication can be given to Tim on a compassionate basis, meaning he can get it for FREE. HOWEVER, the NHS cannot administer the treatment as the drug isn't fully certified - which means we need to fund it.

The consultant offering this has estimated that treatment will cost between £1000-£2000 a month.

We live six hours from Tim, and during the time since his diagnosis we have had the COVID pandemic, so we were unable to support/spend time with him as he has continued undergoing surgeries and treatments while working remotely to support himself.

As a family, of course we will give Tim all the monetary support we can, but we REALLY can't do this alone. We are a small family, just our mum, and other siblings, with no extended family to help and support us.

So I am asking you to please donate whatever you can, and if you REALLY can't spare a £1 or two, then PLEASE PLEASE share, then share again and again.

You may just help give us more time, time that all of us take for granted.

Thank you.
