Tim's Story
You never think the word CANCER will be spoken to you, but we all know someone that has been affected by it. My dad's story begins in 2016 while getting prepped for having catarac surgery. You see, while he was lying there hooked up to a heart monitor, the doctor noticed that his EKG was reading abnormal. He asked Tim if he was feeling alright and dad responded Yes. That doctor knew something wasn't right and had him get into a heart speciliast as soon as possible.

You are probably wondering what does having catarac surgery have to do with cancer? Well if it wasn't for that doctor following his instincts, I am not sure where my dad would be today. Upon seeing the heart doctor, Tim was diagnosed with Afib. He was having to take some blood pressure medicine that was not settling well with his body. After waiting 6 months he went back to the doctor and they ran a blood test. The test showed that his blood levels had dropped from his intitial appointment. After running some test, it was determined in March 2017 that Tim has Stage 3 Colon Cancer.  They also found a mass on his left kidney that they do believe is cancer also.

In May he started the process of having to do five and half weeks of radiation for 5 days a week and was put on a chemo pump which administered chemo 7 days a week for the same 5.5 weeks. He just finished up his treatments May 26, 2017. Surgery is scheduled for July 26 where they will remove his colon, the mass on his kidney and they will put in a colostomy bag. The doctors first told Tim that he would have the colostomy bag for the rest of his life, but we were giving some hope from his oncologist! So please pray that his body will heal from the surgery enough that he won't have to live with it.

Why A Campaign?
My reasoning behind starting this campagin is that Tim does not have any health insurance so all medical bills and travel expenses are being paid out of his own pocket. My dad is not a person to ask for help and I know he wouldn't have done this for himself, so that is why we, his family, are doing this campaign. Tim would give you the shirt off his back, he has volunteered countless hours in the community and is always willing to help out through his business, Lone Oak Printing, however we may.
