Timothy Studebaker's Eagle Scout Project

I have been in Scouting since the 5th grade.  I started as a Webelo in Cub Scouts and after nine years in Scouting, I am now working on my Eagle Rank with Troop 454 in El Dorado Hills, CA.  The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Scout can achieve.  It is estimated that only 7% of boys that begin Boy Scouts will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.   In order to earn this rank I had to progress through 6 different ranks, complete 21 merit badges, hold a leadership position within my Troop for 6 months, plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project, take part in a Scoutmaster conference and complete an Eagle Scout Board Review.  I am currently working on my Eagle project which requires me to plan out a project, recruit volunteers, acquire the materials, and act as the foreman of the project.

My project will be to construct a planter and bench fusion for Saint John Notre Dame School.  With the issue of Covid-19 this year, the school has had to make drastic change to their infrastructure and processes to the way they run the school. One of the main areas and services they provide is a program called Extended Day Program, or EDP. The building they run it out of has no outside seating or surrounding area and the school has asked me to provide a bench with planters on each side to provide a place for parents to sit as they wait for their child to gather their belongings inside EDP and go home. I am looking forward to working with and leading the Scouts in my Troop as my last project with them.  I plan to start my project in late October 2020 and have it completed by the start of November 2020.  I expect that this project will take about 2 weekends to complete.

In order to make my project a reality, I am asking for the financial support of family and friends. I have estimated that the cost of my project will be about $750 in total.
