Tim Harphant

In September of 2014,  our son Tim (50), was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  A football size tumor along with his left kidney were removed.  By January 2015,  the cancer had metastasized to his lungs and his classification changed to Stage 4 Renal Cell cancer.   The prognosis is terminal.  The first treatment was an intense Immunotherapy involving hospitalization and had long term side effects. When that treatment failed, chemotherapy  was started with an inhibitor drug causing  severe side effects (gastrointestinal  issues, abdominal pain, nausea  and major skin irritations).    This treatment has been successful in keeping these tumors from growing.  Unfortunately, recent testing has revealed that the cancer has metastasized to the lymph nodes. He has just completed radiation treatment and is now beginning Immunotherapy treatments.  

Tim is a single parent with 3 children.  His son Patrick(25) lives in Phoenix and daughters Emma (9) and Ally (6)  live 50% of the time with their dad.  While Tim has managed to keep working, the side effects of his treatments are so severe that he is unable to work full time.   As a result, he is no longer able to keep up with  their monthly living expenses and  his continuing medical expenses which includes doctor visits, testing, treatment and medication.   Even though Tim is suffering from extreme physical, emotional and  financial stress he is striving for a positive outcome.  His faith in God, will to live, desire to watch his children grow and the support of his family and friends keeps him fighting !
