Timothy Gaida Medical Aid

Hi everyone,

Timothy Gaida was admitted to the ICU at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota on June 16th, 2018. I'm writing this Sept, 17th 2018. He was in the ICU for nearly 3 months.  He was admitted for kidney failure and started dialysis. When getting picked, he went into cardiac arrest. CPR was required and he was put on life support (a ventilator). He then developed fluid in his lungs, requiring constant drainage and clearing. He was removed from the ventilator for 6 days, however, his lungs and throat continued to deteriorate. He has had acid reflex for years and been permanently disabled since 2015. He was never able to clear his lungs, eventually causing his own secretions to consume his lungs, instigating a second heart attack. He was placed back on the ventilator with no change for an additional 2-3 weeks. The family decided to get a tracheotomy and a stomach peg for feeding. The stomach peg was unsuccessful. He has not been processing food, continuing to lose weight. The doctors are trying new formulas to see if they can find anything that works. If it doesn't work, surgery will be required in his stomach, intestines, and bowels to identify the problem. He has since been transferred to Bethesda, a long-term residential facility specializing in medical rehabilitation, to try and battle his ailments.  

Patti Gaida, Tim's loving wife, had taken 5 weeks off of work when Tim was first admitted. Eventually, she developed appendicitis and was also hospitalized at ridges for 4 days, requiring emergency surgery. On July 23rd, Patti returned to work only to discover that she had been laid off due to "budget cuts" starting August 3rd-after 9 years of working for this company. Since then, health insurance has been revoked and the bills from both individuals' medical care has skyrocketed. Tim's medical bills continue to increase at an alarming rate-especially since his health continues to rollercoaster. 

As a close family friend, I am heartbroken. Tim and Patti have two sons, Jason and Jesse Gaida. Unfortunately, with Tim's condition, and Patti getting laid off of work, it's been very hard for the family to pay their bills and live a "normal" life. I ask that you donate, pray, and share this cause so that the Gaida family may get as much help as they possibly can. We are trying to raise at least $5000 in the next month to help them out.
