Help Timofey from Ukraine combat cancer

Hello to all, my name is Vlada, and I am fundraising for Timofey Yatsiuk on behalf of his mother, Inna Yatsiuk.
My hope is that we can help this family pay the medical bill. All proceeds will be transferred to the family.

Timofey, who was born in Kharkiv which is in Ukraine, is a seven year old boy who is battling blood cancer for the second time in his life.

The first time Timofey was diagnosed with acute leukemia was in 2017 and within 9 month Timofey was cured and cancer free. The treatment was a success in his native Ukraine. Timofey has been cancer free for 4 years, therefore with cautious optimism the family thought than cancer will not come knocking on their door again, while regularly attending check-ups with their oncologist.

Despite all caution, on the 23rd of October 2021, 4 years after the initial battle, the cancer returned. The family initiated immediate treatment in their hometown of Kharkiv, Ukraine, with the same oncologist who treated Timofey the first time. Unfortunately, the treatment resulted in some horrific side effects that sent the boy to the ICU with brain swelling and gastroparesis. Sadly, no other treatment options were available in Ukraine ( the healthcare is not very good comparing to American/Canadian standard), so the family traveled to Turkey in search of better treatment option and has been there since December 16, 2021.

Since arriving to Turkey, Timofey had to endure four painful rounds of chemo and lots other procedures than no child should ever have to endure. The family was told that the only long term successful option to remain cancer-free would be a bone marrow transplant from a donor. The success rate is higher when a match is a random donor, other than blood relative. There were initially two donor candidates, but the matching was unsuccessful, so Timofey’s mother Inna became a bone marrow donor for him.

The procedure was performed on April 7, 2022.

Timofey is now recovering, and although experiencing some expected side effects, the overall prognosis is very hopeful.

The family is now left with and astronomical bill to pay to the clinic- $70000 USD. The name of the clinic is Medipol and it is located in Istanbul, Turkey. We are lucky to have “free” healthcare in Canada, but for this family there is literally a price tag for the life of their only child.

There is an Instagram account run by Timofey’s mother Inna: (however it is not in English).

Please let’s help this family, whose country is now ravished by war, to pay off the hospital balance.

Much thanks to you all and God bless.
