Our brother in Christ, Timothy David DeBoom, 43, of Orlando, FL, entered into his eternal rest and met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2018 with his family by his side after a courageous 16-year battle with brain cancer. As a life-long follower of Jesus Christ, the following verse is the perfect example of the legacy of Tim’s life: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.

There are two specific ways you can help Lisa, and the girls immediately. First, and mostly importantly, you can love them, hug them and tell them you are praying for them.  Second, you can be the hands and feet of Jesus by making a financial gift here. James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.” Given Tim’s medical history, and the age of his children, there are a number of pressing financial needs (short-term and long-term) that need to be addressed.

Tim was born to Bill and Sherri DeBoom on October 11, 1974 in Washington, DC. His family moved to Nebraska when he was one year old and then to Orange City, Iowa when he was in the fifth grade. Throughout high school and college he played the saxophone in the band and had the incredible opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl Parade. He also was an avid runner and a member of his high school cross country team.

He studied at Northwest Missouri State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1997. In that same year, he enrolled at Rollins College, Orlando, Florida in the Crummer Graduate School of Business. In 1999 he graduated from Rollins College with a Masters in Business Administration.

During his time at Rollins he began attending First Baptist Orlando. It was here, in the singles’ ministry, that he met the love of his life, Lisa. Tim and Lisa were married on  September 16, 2000.

He began his professional career in 1999 as a Senior Accountant with KPMG and worked there for three and a half years. In January of 2003, Tim was hired as Director of Finance at The First Academy, Orlando, Florida. Tim was a dedicated and accomplished employee who served in several capacities during his 15-year career at The First Academy. He would always go above and beyond the call of duty in everything he did to help a colleague, student, or parent.  He was responsible for developing the first Social Media Campaign Hashtag #WhyILoveTFA which lasted for over 3 years on campus. He also served the students as a track and cross country coach as well as a personal finance teacher for a number of years. He truly modeled Service Before Self and always chose joy and a positive attitude.

God blessed Tim and Lisa with their first daughter, Faith in June of 2004. Three years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Hope. Tim loved his girls and cherished spending time with them. He coached them in soccer and was very proud of them for their love of music and theatre.

Tim, Lisa, and the girls enjoyed traveling north during the summers to spend time with his parents in Iowa, and in recent years, the four of them spent time each summer and Christmas on the lake in Branson, Missouri.  Locally, they enjoyed family bike rides and regular trips to Walt Disney World.

Tim was an active member of First Baptist Orlando, where he served as a deacon and was a member of Connect at Crossroads life group.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, daughters Faith and Hope, parents Bill and Sherri DeBoom of Branson, Missouri, his sister Betsie (DeBoom) Swartz, her husband Scott and their two sons Paul and Derek of Rochelle, Illinois.

Thank you for you considersation and gernerosity in helping this amazing family through this very difficult time.

Be Blessed.
