Tim Sox Strong

Hi there family, friends and prayer warriors. Lots of you asked us to set this up so here it is!!  Tim and Julie Sox need your prayers and support as they navigate this difficult journey they face. Recently following a busy week traveling out of town, Tim returned home feeling unusually lethargic. Making no sense and having trouble remembering things, he was rushed to the hospital where a series of tests was ordered.
It was determined that Tim had a golf ball sized tumor on the left side of his brain. Though the doctor suspected the mass in his brain had metastasized from elsewhere in his body, the PET scan revealed that was not the case. He was transferred to Baptist Hospital and after a specialized MRI, and a meeting with the neurosurgeon, immediate surgery was scheduled.
Tim was in the hands of a renowned cerebrovascular surgeon for four to five hours and the body of the tumor was successfully removed. We were grateful for the care Tim was receiving and hoped the prognosis going forward would be
optimistic. However, the fight was just beginning.
Tim’s mass was diagnosed as grade 4 Glioblastoma which is the worst and most aggressive form of brain cancer. The body of the tumor was removed, but the roots remain along with the cancer within them. Six weeks of radiation followed by oral chemo was suggested and Tim was sent home to recover. The road ahead will be long and arduous, filled with difficult decisions and a financial burden no one could ever be prepared for.  Along the journey, Tim has been a shining light to everyone he meets. Greeting every doctor, nurse, and food deliverer with a warm hug and his sincerest gratitude, never once letting a smile leave his face. 
This week, Tim was accepted to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas for testing and will be making regular trips to continue ongoing treatments. Jason, his son in law, will be joining him as he travels and they have graciously been given round trip plane tickets for next week as testing starts. After that we will be given the treatment plan. Tim and Jason will travel back to Houston once treatment starts. As you know there is no end to the escalating costs of this specialized care and travel expenses involved. We are thanking our God for amazing friends whom have already offered to open their home in Houston as a place for the guys to stay. Testing and treatment for Tim means he will no longer be able to work. We know there is nothing God can’t do and we pray for a miracle. But, we know that we have to do what we can to relieve any unnecessary stress caused by this horrible disease. There is much still to accomplish and we covet your prayers and financial support.
