Tim P. Roper's recovery support

Donation protected
On Wednesday Feb. 7th, my son Timothy Paul Roper (31) suffered a totally unpredicted and nearly catastrophic cardiac episode during which the left side of his heart became blocked, blood clotted and open heart surgery became neccessary.  On Friday Feb. 9th he underwent an urgent triple bypass operation. The need for this sudden drastic surgery came as a shock to virtually everyone that knows Tim.

After surgery, doctors disclosed that his previous diagnosis of Juvenile Rhuematoid Arthritis had--over the years--contributed to more than ocassional joint discomfort. It unknowingly also led to severe inflammation of his heart and vascular system. This inflammation left this otherwise healthy and energetic young man  with what we now know is a seriously compromised heart.

After successful surgery at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, MA Tim spent his first few days of recovery  learning the sober reality of what lies ahead. Doctors explained that he cannot return to work for a minimum of 3 months and will have very limited mobility, need a great amount of rest as well as physical therapy for at least 8 weeks.

So, while we are very hopeful Tim will be able to reassume a normal lifestyle at some point, he is left with no way to pay his bills over this unavoidable period of recovery. Our extended family is doing our best to pitch in  but ultimately it is more than we can handle.

This GoFundMe effort was created by Tim's friends and family to help cover his living expenses (rent, car payment, insurance, medication, food, transportation and rising medical bills--after insurance) that have already begun stacking up and will continue to rise over the next 3 months.

Tim's road back will already be challenging enough. If we can relieve some of the pressure of fending off debt so he can focus on his health, we will give him that much more chance of a full recovery.

Tim is a genuinely compassionate and loving young man who has been dealt a very difficult hand. He has always been very self sufficent and is not accustomed to depending on others for assistance. So we are launching this effort on his behalf.

We  humbly ask that you please help give him a fighting chance at full recovery in whatever amount you can.

THANK YOU
