Tim Manco recovery fund

This fund is being set up to help ease the financial burden of recovery post procedure for Tim Manco, as he heals post surgery.
For those of you whom are not aware, Tim’s Sister Doreen was diagnosed with Renal Kidney Failure in February of 2017, due to a kidney infection that was not diagnosed in time. This resulted in Doreen being placed on dialysis 4 days a week (for a total of 16 hours weekly). She was informed that the only cure for her condition would be a kidney transplant.
In December of 2017 Tim was matched with her blood type (he was the only family member matched) and starting in January of 2018 Tim began the process of testing to see if he would be a candidate for donation of one of his kidneys to Doreen. It was confirmed that he was in fact a match.
The procedure is covered by Doreen’s insurance from start to finish, including any and all pre and post operation procedures and testing for Tim, however it does NOT provide him with any type of financial assistance or “safety net” for his time away from work for his recovery. This means that Tim would have no income being generated for the duration of his 6-8 week recovery time.
Those of you who know Tim, know that he is not one to ask for help, or a hand out. As a matter of fact, it took countless discussions to finally get him to agree to this go fund me account. In Tim’s mind he was doing what any sibling would do in this situation, and helping his sister recover was his only priority.
I asked Tim to allow me to start this fund to help ease the burden of lost income so that he can focus on what is most important: his recovery, and the recovery of his sister Doreen. After discussing the income that he generally would bring in over a 6-8 week period Tim “low balled” his estimate as he has been (on his own) preparing for this since the day he was matched with his sister.
I would like to invite everyone who knows and loves Tim (or Doreen) to donate to this cause, in Tim’s mind he is just doing what anyone would do.
This wasn’t a difficult choice for Tim, but the road to recovery will leave him completely on his own finically.
Just as Tim’s choice to help his sister Doreen came so naturally, so should our choice to help prepare him for his recovery and healing. Your donation will allow Tim and Doreen to focus on what is important, their health and healing.
