Woplia for remembering Tim's journey to the spirit world with our Give-A-Way to remember his life.

Tim Giago, owner/publisher of Native Sun News Today, and original founder of Indian Country Today, Lakota Times and Lakota Journal, has made his journey to the Spirit World. Tim was considered by many the Godfather of Native Journalism. He was instrumental in founding the Native American Journalist Association (NAJA) and was elected its first president. His accolades in the field of journalism are many, and he will be greatly missed.

We are giving away 100 of his books to remember the story of his boarding school life. We are celebrating at the Canyon Lake Activity Center at 2900 Canyon Lake Drive, Rapid City, SD 57702 on July 15th, 2023 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Serving Indian Tacos and non-alcoholic beverages. We are needing to raise money for the feed and drum group in Tim’s honor. Any financial assistance you can share would be appreciated or bring a cake, pie or cookies. Come join the celebration of husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.
