Tim Galos' Fund

Tim Galos is one of the kindest and most sincere people you will ever meet. He has a reputation for always seeing the good in people, and doing anything he can to help out someone in need. An alumni of Purdue University, he moved from his hometown of Hammond, IN to St. Louis, MO to pursue a career in bio-engineering. He became an active member of his community, and is well known to many in the Cherokee Street area. He is involved with the Benton Park West Neighborhood Association, his neighborhood dog park, and participates in the Couchsurfing community. He also regularly participates in community events and dogs sits for friends and neighbors in need. Despite the recent increase in crime in his area, Tim has not given up on the community he loves. He is always looking for ways to improve his neighborhood, and the lives of all of those who are members of it.

On the night of Monday, October 16th, 2017, around 9:30pm, Tim was senselessly shot in the chest while walking his dog, Heather. His dog was able to get away, however Tim was not. The bullet fractured several ribs, missed his heart, hit his lungs, then traveled to his shoulder and fractured his scapula, leaving him in critical condition. The incident occurred in the alley near his home, near the intersection of Cherokee St. and Oregon Avenue in St. Louis, MO. He did not know his attacker, nor was anything taken from him. There is still no known motive for the shooting, nor is there any information on a suspect.

Tim is very lucky to have survived, and even more so to be improving as quickly as he is. While there are many things to be grateful for in this situation, there are also many unknowns that lie ahead. Hospital bills are already piling up, and will only continue to do so as he is likely to need several months of therapy following his release from the hospital.

Please help him out by donating anything you can. All proceeds will go to Tim to pay for medical bills, and to help keep his house up and running while he is recovering.
