Tim’s 21 year old son Alan suffered severe second and third degree burns to his face and hands from the initial explosion, and then additional burns from when Alan went back into the house to help pull his grandfather from the flames. Alan will be going into surgery tomorrow for skin grafts to help replace the areas where the skin is too badly damaged to heal on its own. He will then undergo a second surgery later this week for additional repair to his face and hands. Alan is doing as well as can be expected, but has had to put both his studies and work on hold indefinitely due to this unexpected tragedy.
In addition to suffering extensive burns that will also require skin grafts, Tim’s father-in-law lost everything he and his wife owned in the fire and will be now starting the process of rebuilding all that they have lost.
For any that might not know Tim Evans personally, he has been a valued employee of Laticrete for 14 years and was a customer for 20 years before that. Tim has already expressed to me how much he has appreciated all the texts, emails, and calls he has received from his LATICRETE family sending their love and support during this difficult time.
This GoFundMe page has been set up so that anyone from Tim’s Laticrete family who would like to donate has a place to give. David Rothberg has generously offered for LATICRETE International to match any donations made by LATICRETE employees to help the Evans family cover their expenses during the long road to recovery.
Please do not feel in any way pressured to give, but if you feel moved to do so I know that it will be greatly appreciated by Tim and his family.
