Tim Ahern Memorial Fund
Donation protected
We are devastated to share that Tim passed away on Thursday, September 5th. He was an amazing brother, son, uncle, and friend loved by all. Tim was always positive and always put his family first.
Tim’s personality was larger than life. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to any and every one. Tim lived for everything OHIO STATE. He also loved Reds baseball almost as much. His passion for sports and love of movies was evident if you talked with him.
In 1983, he was appointed to sit on Ohio’s first Gay & Lesbian Task Force by Governor Celeste. He was very involved with the charities To Care Is To Cure and Dancing for Tomorrow and raised over $380,000 for AIDS research. He graduated from Fairmont East in 1970 and attended The Ohio State University. He worked as a manager for National Amusements Cinemas and other Dayton theaters for forty plus years and was loved by all of his employees.
Although Tim was battling cancer and many other health problems, his death was sudden and unexpected. It was believed he was on the up swing. As the selfless person that Tim was, we have recently discovered that Tim had cashed in his life insurance to pay for family members funerals and medical expenses. Please consider helping out his loved ones through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without him. Donations will go directly to his brother, Tracy Ahern to help with end of life costs and funeral expenses.
