Tig's Balloon Valvuloplasty

Donation protected
When Tig was only 8 weeks old, the vet could hear a heart murmur. As the weeks and months flew by, the murmur stayed but so did our happy baby. He never missed a beat, always flashing that pitty smile, playing hard with his brother and racing his momma up mountains on her crazy hikes.
At his 1 year check up, the vet again mentioned his heart, but this time with more concern. We decided it would be best to do a consult with the cardiologist, just for peace of mind. We went to the highly renowned VCA Emergency Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego where Tig had an echocardiogram and an ECG. What they found would NOT be giving us peace of mind.
Tig has been diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis, a congenital defect that results in the narrowing of the pulmonary artery. To judge severity of the defect, pressure is measured at the opening of artery. Anything over 75 mmHg is considered high/severe. Tig measured at 160 mmHg.
He has been started on atenolol, a beta blocker, to help steady his heart rate and any arrhythmia that may occur. But that being said, surgery is a must if he wants to live past 2 or 3 years old.
The procedure is called a balloon valvuloplasty and Tig is a definite candidate. The vet gave us an estimate of around $6000.
He may be a dog, but he is my baby and one of my best friends. I spend a lot of time alone, while my wonderful husband is serving our country overseas, so my dogs are my life, my whole world.
Please, ANY amount is GREATLY appreciated. Please help me save my little boy's life.
