Tierra Binion was born in Pensacola, Florida. She was 25 years old and a mother of twin boys when she was murdered, Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was with friends at Mugs and Jugs when an altercation broke out among a group of males outside. Caught in the fray of chaos, Tierra had an exchange of words with Rachel Derise. The video from the surveillance shows Christian Ketchup interjecting and hitting Tierra in the face twice as she falls to the ground, unconscious. Once she's on the ground, Rachel Derise gets on top of her body and hits her in her head over and over. Christian Ketchup pushes Rachel off of Tierra and fires 10 bullets into Tierra's back and head. He pulls the trigger a total of 21 times in the parking lot before Rachel and Christian run to the rear of the building and get in a car together and LEAVE.

Rachel Derise was charged with battery and sentenced by Judge Kristina Lightel to 45 days in jail and a 500 word essay assignment.

Christian Ketchup was charged with second-degree murder. He motioned the court for a dismissal and Stand Your Ground Motion, stating he was acting in self defense.

On August 19th, his motion was denied by Judge Amy Broderson. He is set for trial by a jury on September 16th and 17th.

Tierra was buried in the Excel cemetery in Excel, Alabama where she graduated from Excel High School. Her Funeral was held at Excel Assembly of God where Johnson Funeral Home headed her funeral arrangements and burial procession.

During this fight for due process, Tierra's family has traveled hours back and forth to both Derise and Ketchup's hearings, advocating for justice. They have promoted social resources such as The Graffiti Bridge project and collaborated with local news headlines and journalists to bring awareness.

As of today, Tierra lies in an unmarked grave in Excel, Alabama. Our prayer is that the communities she was apart of for her 25 years will be a resource to the closure needed in this case for her headstone arrangements as we await her murderers trial and stride the race of justice.
