TICA GL Fundraiser (Members Helping Clubs)

Due to the COVID virus, shows have been either cancelled by TICA or their local governments. For the Great Lakes region, this means that 3 clubs have been directly impacted. Two clubs had shows cancelled by the local governments (Showcats and GLFOF). One club (Wisconsin-Illinois Cat Fanciers) had their show cancelled by TICA. TICA will be helping the clubs where TICA cancelled their show with financial assistance. The first two clubs do not fall under that umbrella.
Please remember, Cat Shows are NOT a Business. Putting on shows is a very expensive undertaking. And it is not a business, but a labor of love. Many clubs do this on a shoestring budget to keep costs as low as possible to assure we can provide shows year after year. This means our clubs have no large reserves for disasters such as this one.
Your donation to this TICA GL Fund Raiser could make the difference as to whether these clubs are able to continue in the future.
What are some examples of costs that our clubs have lost as a result of their local government. Examples include:
1. judges' airfare (those that used their tickets and were on the ground in Columbus for the show)
2. travel expenses for judges (hotel, mileage and meals)
3. exhibitor catalogs (Columbus show)
Important Info:
*All donations will be sent directly to the Great Lakes Regional treasury and will be distributed by the region to the affected regional clubs who can demonstrate their financial impacts on a case-by-base basis.
*If this goes beyond April 30 and additional clubs are effected, those will be added to this list.
*Any funds raised beyond this will go into the Regional fund to assist with the loss the Region faces from the loss of a portion of our regional rebate (given from TICA based on the number of rings scored in that show season) and/or used towards the Fundraiser to help our individual members who have demonstrated a need for supplies.
*The GL RD pledges to personally cover the percentage taken from Go Fund Me in making the totals whole. It is a 2.9% fee and small per transaction fee.
