Hello, my name is Tenzin Phuntsog, along with Joy Dietrich, we are the directors of a new documentary called, “Rituals of Resistance.”
We are an independent filmmaking duo and we made this film by hand as a passion project. We are at this critical stage and need your help so our hand made film can compete on the same stage as the big films.
What you Enable
1. Outreach: Social Media, Marketing, Promotional Materials, Posters, Web Sites, and Travel Costs to Compete at Film Festivals
2. Distribution: Web Site Designer & Hosting Fees, Self Distribution or Streaming Fees, Insurance and Other Expenses.
3. Voice: Help two indie filmmakers compete with other Films in a saturated market. Make sure it gets the attention it deserves .
The Back Story to Now
5 years ago we set out to make a film about history of resistance in the Tibetan community in exile. Little did we know at the time how challenging and ambitious our goal truly was.
After several years of editing and shooting and editing and shooting, we are excited to announce we have finished the film!
We will have our premiere at the Margaret Mead Film Festival on October 21st at the American Natural History Museum in New York.
As we gear up for our next screening - your funds are more needed now than ever. We still have not reached our goal of 10K to cover all our marketing and outreach costs. Airspace is limited and we need your help to compete for that time and exposure.
The Need
At this critical stage in the film we are now facing our next challenge - We need to raise $10,000 to help us get the word out to our audience.
Your contribution will ensure their voices and this unknown story of resistance reaches a wider audience.
Films like ours have faced difficulty finding a platform and funding due to its sensitive subject matter. Growing up I never felt there was a documentary that honestly represented the exile experience from the perspective of common Tibetan people.
The funds will go toward giving this film a fighting chance!
