The Wounded Highlanders is the only UK Adaptive Highland Games team, we are a team made up of injured military veterans with many different injures from limb loss to mental health. We compete as a team and are mostly known for competing at the Mey Highland Games, we aim to use competing as a form of recovery and also chase world records in the coming 18 months.
Team members and some supporters will be taking on the 1 Mile challenge which entails throwing a 7.26kg Scottish Hammer as many times as it takes to cover 1 MILE or 5280 FEET. ( This will be completed in safe areas away from the public and also following the government guidelines during lock down.)
We also have members taking on other challenges to help raise funds as they may not have the safe area to complete a throwing challenge.
