In the early morning of December 30th 2015, the worst kind of tragedy happened to the Harris children. Their loving mother was killed in a fatal car accident on her way to work in Carleton Place. Dakota (8), Leland (6) and Little Harlow (4) kissed their mother Elizabeth goodbye for the last time as she dropped them off at daycare.
The children are now in the care of their father Thomas, but this family will need the help of the communities of Smiths Falls and Carleton Place to rally behind them.
Thomas had recently started school to learn a new trade to better provide for his children, and will need lots of help to continue to provide for them now in their great time of need.
Many families in the community may have met Elizabeth Harris. She lived in Smiths Falls with her Children, but worked in Carleton Place and surrounding areas as a Personal Support Worker. She may have helped care for your family, so let's return the favour to hers.
