Thousand Oaks Teen's Accident Victim Fund

On Wednesday Night, Sept. 1, 2021, at about 10:10 p.m., five local Conejo Valley Children were involved in a horrific vehicle accident on Hillcrest at Citation Way.

19-year-old Mario Casanova succumbed to injuries while en route to the hospital.

The other children are ages 14-19.

Three of the children passengers are in critical condition at our local hospitals.

Two have been airlifted to Children's Hospital.

These children attend our local CVUSD schools. They play with your Conejo kids. They are Safe Passage Kids who have lived in difficult micro community living arrangements especially during COVID. They need us all more than ever.

Their families need help with paying medical bills, funeral expenses (for Mario) , food, rent etc. ...

Prior to this ,we have worked with the families helping them daily, to keep their head above water financially during COVID. They are wonderful families with basic financial means.

Safe Passage wants to ensure that these local Conejo underserved families can face these obstacles with the power of the Conejo behind them.

You can imagine what their parents and siblings are facing.

Safe Passage will seed relief immediately by matching dollar for dollar up to $10,000 for the goal of $130,000, for funeral and long-term help, rehabilitation and care for the kids.

Equality is not just about school or the workplace, it is about caring for the most vulnerable children equally.

Every dollar received will be directly distributed to the five families.

Safe Passage will steward the relief with no expenses whatsoever being passed on.

Safe Passage Youth Foundation provides free daily mentoring and meals to children living in underserved micro-communities from Kinder to 6th grade using local community leaders and youth.
