Thornton’s Wheelchair Accessible Van Fund
Donation protected
Hi there,
My name is Anna and I’m lucky enough to be the aunt of this special amazing little guy pictured, Fitzgerald, known by most as “Fitz”, Thornton!
Most of you know his story by now and have been blessed by his cheerful infectious demeanor, but for those that don’t, Fitz was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder called L1 syndrome. From brain surgery to place a shunt at a day old, to thousands of therapies since, he has proven to be a warrior and move mountains all while having a bright smile on his face. He is truly the sweetest boy you could ever meet with the strongest parents I know.
Due to the severity of Fitz’s disorder and the lack of care options, Fitz’s amazing dad, Heath had to quit his job to care full time for our little man, leaving their family of 5 to survive on my sister Katie’s teaching income. Without any government assistance, this has proven to be difficult but they have managed to get by picking up extra tutoring hours, laundry gigs, instacart shifts, and numerous comedy gigs all without asking for any help!
Unfortunately their van has broken down, for the 5th time in the past year, and appears could be on its final straw. As Fitz continues to grow, the need for a wheelchair accessible van is approaching very quickly! They are unaware I have made this and may even be a little irritated when they find out, but by golly if I’m not going to advocate for this family the way they advocate for my sweet nephew every day!!!
They need our help and I would love nothing more than to shower them in love and show them they have an entire community of friends and family willing to help them in their time of need! No amount is too small, and if you can’t donate, please share. Let’s get the word out there and get the Thornton’s a wheelchair accessible van!
