I am raising funds in Support of Kellen, Janay, and their children Talia, Kennedy, and Kayo. It is my hope that by sponsoring this family we will alleviate some of the financial stressors brought on by high medical bills, high cost of living, and low income. Because of Janay's wavering health and current treatment regime, she is not able to work at this time. Kellen is employed by the Montessori School of Englewood as a Teacher's Assistant.

By raising a total of 3,000 dollars, we will be able to assist in the purchase of a used car which is essential for traveling to work (40 minutes away), toting around the three littles, as well as getting Janay to her treatment appointments. Their current car, a 2007 Saturn Outlook XR, just experienced engine and transmission failures totaling over 3,600 dollars in repairs. It is the family's hope that they will be able to find something with more life left in it that can get them safely from point a to point b.
Another portion of the monies will be used to bring their housing account current so that the risks and penalties of late/partial rental payments are not looming above their heads. The Thorntons currently reside in a rented townhome in Park Forest, IL, a south suburb of Chicago, IL. Being in Illinois means higher utility payments, stricter shut off policies, and an increase in overall living expenses like food, gas, personal hygiene supplies, children and baby clothing, shoes etc.
Any remaining funds will be used in order to pay the fees associated with registering their Labrador/Rottweiler Mix, Kodak, with the "Emotional Support Animal Registration of America" , an organization dedicated to the education and support of those in need of ESAs, Therapy, and Service Animals.
