#ThomasFire Victim - Kate Mack Ojai

Help Katherine "Kate" Mack get back to living on her property in Matilija Canyon, Ojai CA. that was burned in the Thomas Fire.

Hi I'm Kala, I'm starting this campaign on behalf my friend of 27 years, Kate Mack from #MatilijaCanyon in Ojai CA. 

At this point in her life Kate needs some financial and/or physical help that she's not accustomed to asking for, so I'm asking for her! 

The goal

Get a livable unit on the property that Kate can live in until we can help her sort out her options to rebuild on her property in the canyon. 

If you are local to Ojai and have a trailer and/or can offer some time to help clean up the place, please contact me. 

Kate's Recent History

In the past 18 months, Kate has mourned:

 The death of her partner of 29 years Morgan Alexander to cancer. 


The death of her dog Jelly Bean @ 14 years old.


the loss of her home, on her property in Matilija Canyon

the loss of her income from a rental house that was also on her property.


This property was the original homestead on over 174 acres in the beautiful Matilija Canyon just north of Ojai on Maricopa Hwy (33).

Morgan bought into a partnership on the property in the 80's, Kate joined her there not long after. They had gardens & fruit trees, they could stay in the canyon for weeks or even months at a time with all the canned fruits and vegetables they had stored.

Kate is currently living @ my house in Ojai CA. She can stay here as long as she needs to, her current living needs are covered. Every cent from this campain will go towards getting Kate back to the canyon.
