MINT HILL, N.C. — Three fire departments were on the scene of The Thomas Family Home fire in Mint Hill early Wednesday morning January 28, 2015.

Crews were called to the home around 3 a.m. on Forrest Rader Drive. The family home exploded and was engulfed in flames  as the family watched their home callapse  in front of them.

The fire chief said the home is most likely a total loss. We have now confirmed that the home is a total loss.
The firefighters found the family cat alive inside the wall 3 hours after the fire. Local news Channel 9 captured the firefighters giving oxygen to the cat.  See the full story at www.wsoctv.com

All 5 Thomas family members made it out of the home safely with only the clothes on their backs. Today they must all rebuild their  lives starting a new.

Marcus "Keith" Thomas is a junior at Independence High School and starter on the boys basketball team.  As  basketball family members we would like you to join us in helping his family with immediate overwhelming cash needs.  Any donation large or small will go towards helping his family of 5 return to normalcy asap.

Thank you for your love, your concern, your calls, your prayers and your generous cash donations.
