On April 14, Tom became sick and fell. He was rushed to Dubois hospital where a CTscan revealed a tumor on the right side of his brain. He was taken to Pittsburgh by helicopter and rushed into emergency surgery.

Tom returned home just a few days later, only to be flown back when he became unresponsive 2 days later.

Doctors were sure that he just needed a stronger dose of steroids to manage the swelling in his brain. He was taken to Dubois rehab where he began physical therapy. Again he became unresponsive and was taken by ambulance to Shadyside Hospital on April 28.

A CT scan and MRI led the doctors to discover a bacteria infection at the surgery sight. It was also there that Tom’s diagnosis was confirmed. He has glioblastoma.

Already in these short weeks Tom and his wife Amy’s life has been turned upside down. Everyday is a new battle and expenses are added up fast.

Tom will need radiation and chemo but his treatment won’t stop there. His family is looking into alternative therapies and will not give up the fight.

Tom serves a mighty God. The God of healing, the God of strength, the God higher than any other.

God’s hand has been on Tom and Amy. He has used friends and family to bless them and hold them up. Many have asked how to help and donating to relieve some of the financial stress would do wonders.

No matter the future, God will be working and he will be praised. Thank you for letting God work through you.
