Thomas Scheer Jr. Medical Fund

Thomas is a 21 year old who attends U of H and strives for excellence. He also has Muscular Dystrophy and heart failure. We were hoping for a heart to come in for a transplant. However, his heart gave out before one was available. Thomas has gone through a year of back and forth hospital and ER visits, extreme nausea and vomiting, exhaustion, two balloon pumps, two failed attempts at placing an impella in his heart, and three HUGE open hear surgeries. One to place an LVAD machine and temporary RVAD, another to replace the failing LVAD machine, and yet another to stop him from bleeding out in two places after these surgeries. Thomas will go through another surgery this Tuesday September 5th to replace the temporary RVAD with a permanent one. These surgeries, even without these complications, take about 6 month to recover from. Then Thomas will be able to be placed back on the active heart donor recipient list. With God's graces he will get a heart and start recovering from that.  Thomas needs a sterile place to live when he comes home from the hospital.  He will need medical equipment, he will need caregivers for a while.  Therefore, I will have to take off work for a while.  These funds will help with those things and parking and other medical expenses while he is in the hospital.  Thank you so much for your prayers and generosity!
