This Promise to You

Linda passed away not long after her wedding, leaving an immeasurable void for her family and all who were close to her. Her dad, Declan, is a survivor. He asked for a song a long time ago. We've had countless chats! Some things are just too difficult to convey creatively but you give it your best shot in circumstances like this. It's a song from a father to one of his own and how he inevitably had to let go. I'm merely in the middle as the storyteller but I'll step away now and wish you nothing but peace, Declan (and Emer).

I have to commend the exceptional courage and generosity of every person in the  video and how they have given their time and wisdom to this, and shared their unquantifiable experiences! Each person has their own story to tell and their own personal journey that reflects the reality of this illness and its far-reaching implications.

This fundraiser, in memory of Linda, and in aid of the Irish Cancer Society (charity number: 631432), is a coming together of real people with real experiences and real losses, who can testify to the devastation that cancer brings and the inevitability that life must be lived and deeply valued in its brevity.

All funds will go towards cancer research so we'd appreciate if you share this video and particularly the GoFundMe link.

Every euro contributed will be an additional euro towards potentially altering the path of someone's life by virtue of providing more funds for research that will ultimately help to save lives.
