This is the real African-American Story

48774914_1596814639962243_r.jpegThe recent spate of unrest in our country has dominated the pages of newspapers and hours of news shows.  We are reminded of the divide that still exists in our country today.  We feel if more people knew about the founding of our country, we would all have a better understanding and more respect for the people who contributed so much in so many ways.  If we knew the whole story of how impactful their lives were, we would know the real story of the founding of America.  We would know that there were many great African-Americans who spent their lives making America a better place.  We want everyone to know how important so many of those ancestors were in shaping our lives today.  How we travel.  What music we listen to.  How business is conducted.  The inventions that created not only items, but entire economic fields.

Common belief is that our country was founded on the backs of Black Lives.  You would be wrong to think that is where the story ends.  Our country was founded on the brains of Black Lives.

It's about time everyone in American knows the true and real story of the founding of our nation.

Hi, I'm Dr. Shamarla Hunter, an African-American businesswomen living in Atlanta.  I've been involved in my church's youth groups and mentoring programs for several years.  Recently, I was given a copy of The African-American Historical News Journal.  Once I started reading the articles, I couldn't believe what I was learning.  I hold a masters degree and a PhD.  I consider myself a reasonably educated person.  Why wasn't I taught this in school?  I thought maybe it was me and I just missed learning about those who preceded me because I wasn't paying attention.  I showed the book to a couple of my friends.  They said the same thing:  Why am I learning this now? Enough is enough.  Everyone needs to know the true story of the founding of our country.  These are the actual newspaper articles written on the dates on the masthead.  No editing for bias. Just the truth.

The African-American Historical News Journal is a compilation of newspaper articles and firsthand accounts of our nation's history. Researchers assembled the contents from the many African-American owned newspapers at the time. We assembled the material in a manner, we felt, would provide the easiest and most concise format to read.

Campaign Details

· Goal: To put a copy of “The Journal” in the hands of every African American high school student.

· Target: 8 Million students.  The Campaign is separated into 10;  800,000 book increments.

· Donation: $25 donation will purchase 2 copies of the 'The Journal'. These editions can be sent to you to distribute or shipped directly to a deserving student or individual’s address that you provide. (Shipping cost is included)

· Our publisher has agreed to contract with exclusively black owned businesses for printing.

My commitment to you.

· I will personally oversee this project to make sure every dollar given goes to putting books into our children's hands. I belong to a large church in Atlanta and I have a vast network of colleagues. I have the support of the congregation and my network to help me with this goal.

· You will receive a receipt of your payment and a tracking number of your books.  You will know when we sent the books and when they were received by your chosen recipient.

I set up a dedicated toll-free number for you to call if you have any questions or need additional information.  That number is: 800-370-1347 and is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  I, or a member of my team, will return every call promptly.

Black History is American History. Blacks played an undeniably important role in shaping the way America is today. From the countless unselfish acts of military bravery, when the nation was young, to today's soldiers standing in the trenches to protect and defend our nation. The impact of Black Americans does not stop with the heroics of soldiers but is woven throughout our history with their influence on politics, music and sports. Let us never forget the many contributions by Black inventors as well as the strength, courage and fortitude of the American Black women played a major role in molding and shaping our country. While there is much information available headlining the key events in history, thousands of untold stories need to be shared. The African-American Historical Journal brings those stories to life for the next generation. Do not let the sacrifices and contributions of these courageous men and women fade into history. Be a part of a positive movement to educate future generations of all colors and backgrounds of the true beauty of our Black History.

To donate and order books as part of this powerful campaign, please include the names and addresses of the students or individuals you wish to receive the journals.

Thank you for helping us get this very important information about the true contributions African-Americans made to the founding of our country into every American home and school.

Blessings, Dr. Shamarla Hunter
