This Honey Saves Elephants

Today, there are only 40,000 Asian elephants left on our planet. As poaching for ivory has become less of a problem recently, the new leading cause of death for these animals is the human-elephant conflict. This is a product of local farmers settling on established migratory paths, resulting in violent human-elephant encounters.

Elephant Honey, LLC was founded as an effort to expand upon the promising solution of building beehive fences to prevent elephants from crop-raiding farms in both Asia and Africa.  Shown to be 80% effective, this method utilizes the elephants' natural fear of bees to divert them around the farms instead of putting themselves at risk of conflict by walking straight through.  This solution benefits everyone.  Elephants do not get shot, farmers profit from fewer crop-raids and the sales of honey from the beehives, jobs are introduced as organizations in Africa and Asia build and maintain these beehive fences, and locals get to taste this delicious honey.

Now, with Elephant Honey, LLC, this honey will be brought into the U.S.  As a group of four Georgetown students, we need help to get the resources to ship the honey all the way from Thailand to the U.S. in order for our company to take off.  We are hoping to save more elephants, make a greater profit for those in Thailand, enable the organizations abroad to build more beehive fences, and put some delicious Elephant Honey on the shelves in the U.S. for you all to taste! We appreciate you taking the time to read this. Any little bit will help. This Honey Saves Elephants!
