This beautiful family get through this challenge

On Saturday July 16, 2022 I regretfully had to say good-bye to my best friend. Derek Green suddenly passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident leaving a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a loving father; he was a friend and most of all he was one of kind. He is survived by his loving wife Nicole and his four children Abby (11 yrs), Silas (7 yrs), Emma (4 yrs) and Lincoln (2yrs). As hard as it is to make this announcement it is my honour to fulfill the duty of passing on this message for those who knew him and to please celebrate his life. Derek was an absolute angel and possibly everyone who met him felt he was their favourite human. It didn’t matter if you knew him for 5 minutes or 30 year’s he made a lasting impact that left you wanting him to be a part of your life. Whether it was scarfing down hot dogs or hitting you with a witty one liner he’d leave you in awe of his appetite or begging for another come back. His uncanny ability to pick up a garage sale accordion and play a rendition of your grandmothers favourite polka or throw down Snoop Dog on a piano at an old folks home will never be forgotten. He was the man the rest of us inspire to be. Loyal and steadfast he entered my life, introducing his family to me and inviting me into their caring, down to earth origins. Derek lived life on the road working in Pipeline Construction to support his family in hopes of giving them a life better than they could ever have imagined. He will be forever missed by every person he encountered leaving a huge void in their lives and it was my privilege to call him friend and brother. We are all better having known him. Love you buddy, cheers and we see you when we dine in the halls of Valhalla.
